Shaykh Ahmad bin Muhammad Sa'id– (1910-1964) radhiAllahu 'anhu

Tuan Shaykh

Shaykh Haji Ahmad bin Muhammad Sa'id  radhiAllahu 'anhu became the second Khalifah of the Tariqah after Shaykh Haji Abdullah radhiAllahu 'anhu. Shaykh Haji Ahmad was a younger brother to Shaykh Haji Abdullah radhiAllahu 'anhu.

He was born in Kampung Bukit Ampangan Seremban on 26 Rabiulawal 1328 (1912).[1]

He received his early education at Sekolah Melayu Ampangan till graduation. Just like his elder brother, he then studied under his father. He performed the Haj pilgrimage at the age of fifteen after his father's passing and then studied in Mecca for 7 years.

In Mecca, Shaykh Haji Ahmad  radhiAllahu 'anhu studied under several eminent scholars such as Shaykh Ali Al-Maliki radhiAllahu 'anhu, Shaykh Abd Sattar Al Kutubi radhiAllahu 'anhu, Shaykh Said Al Yamani radhiAllahu 'anhu and Shaykh Abdul Hai Al Kattani radhiAllahu 'anhu. He was a student who was very particular about his studies and was well loved by his teachers. As a mark of his excellence, Ijazas were given to him by his teachers. Upon returning to his place of birth in 1934, he established a madrasah named As-Saidiah in Rasah. Many scholars from this state received tutelage under him. Shaykh Ahmad radhiAllahu 'anhu, just like his father, Shaykh Muhammad Said radhiAllahu 'anhu, was learned in various Islamic fields such as Usulludin, syariah, tasawuf, nahu-saraf and falak and was the Khalufah of the Ahmadiah Idrisiah Tariqah.

When the Islamic Religious Council of Negeri Sembilan was established, he was elected to be the first Mufti by unanimous decision and was always sought after to grace events at Istana Negara Kuala Lumpur. He too was the one who led the Doa Merdeka (Prayer on the day of Independence).

Shaykh Haji Ahmad  radhiAllahu 'anhu wrote numerous books and religious articles, some of which are kitab Tuhfatul Autan, Safinatus Salamah, Kaifiat Sholat Tarawih, Al Kaulul Wafi, Firaidul Maksir, Kanzul Muiz, and the aurad of the Tariqah Ahmadiah

On 7 Januari 1964 ( 21 Shaaban 1383) at 2pm (Tuesday), Shaykh Haji Ahmad radhiAllahu 'anhupassed away whilst still holding the office of Mufti. He is buried close to his father’s grave.
